At flow consulting, we are regularly involved in social projects. In this podcast episode (german language), Dennis Eighteen reports on how he supported young people in the application process.

My most recent assignment took me to Treffpunkt Amboss in collaboration with the Linerhaus Foundation, where we organised a practical day on the topic of video applications. This commitment is part of the flow philosophy of assuming social responsibility and providing support where our expertise can make a difference.

Applying via video message as a modern tool

What was it all about? At the end of the day, the young people learnt about and tried out everything to do with effective and appealing application videos. From brainstorming to the final cut. With this video message to potential employers, they can then – it is hoped – really stand out on the labour market.

Recognising strengths and showcasing them in your application

Recognising your own strengths and then presenting them – that was the core of the workshop day. And it takes a lot to confidently emphasise your own skills and talents. They can also use this at many other points in their lives. The work assignment may sound simple, but that doesn’t mean it was easy to implement. When do you ever think so intensively about your own strengths? The enthusiasm and commitment of the young people at Treffpunkt Amboss was very inspiring for me. My impression: anyone who doesn’t give up despite the many hurdles that life has in store for them and continues to work hard to build their future has a real chance.

Thanks and recognition

We would like to thank the Linerhaus Foundation as well as the city, district and employment agency of Celle for supporting this project. It is an honour to be part of such a project and we are proud to make a contribution to society through our pro-bono activities and in particular to support young people. And of course we would like to thank Mr Thomas Röttger for his words of appreciation.
